The IHSA issued a brief statement Friday after Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker announced students will not return to in-school instruction for the remainder of the academic year.

In a statement, IHSA executive director Craig Anderson said the IHSA Board of Directors is scheduled to meet via video conference Tuesday and will make a final determination on the IHSA's spring sports state tournaments.

"As we previously indicated, the cessation of in-person learning will make it difficult for the IHSA to conduct spring state tournaments this year," Anderson said in the statement.
