The McHenry County Department of Public Health reported five new deaths and 34 additional cases of people infected with COVID-19 in the county Thursday.
McHenry County has had 886 identified cases of COVID-19 and 50 deaths, according to the MCDH. A man and woman in their 80s were the two latest deaths in the county announced Thursday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Illinois reported 2,641 additional cases and 138 new COVID-19 deaths across the state on Thursday. The IDPH now is reporting a total of 70,873 cases, including 3,111 deaths, in 97 counties in Illinois.
Chicago has had 28,441 cases, or 40.1% of the state’s cases, along with 1,184 deaths. Cook County has 19,900 with 926 deaths, followed by Lake (4,762 and 165), DuPage (4,213 and 228), Will (3,434 and 194), Kane (2,498 and 77) and Kankakee (428 cases and 28 deaths).
Within the county, Woodstock (60098) has had the most cases of infected residents (186) of any ZIP code, according to updated numbers from the MCDH.
McHenry (60050) has 111, Crystal Lake (60014) has 98, Harvard (60033) has 66, Lake in the Hills (60156) has 68, Bull Valley, Crystal Lake and Prairie Grove (60012) has 60, Cary (60013) has 55, Algonquin (60102) has 45, Johnsburg and McHenry (60051) has 45, Huntley (60142) has 38, Marengo (60152) has 37, Wonder Lake (60097) has 23, Spring Grove (60081) has 21, Fox River Grove (60021) has eight and Richmond (60071) has seven. All other ZIP codes have five or fewer cases.
The IDPH also announced details of the three latest deaths in Kane County (two women in their 80s, a woman in her 90s) and three latest deaths in Lake County (two men in their 60s, a woman in her 80s).
