Carmen Gutierrez, 45, was sentenced on May 20 to six years in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a Class X felony.
On Oct. 23, 2019, police searched Gutierrez’s Crystal Lake home and found a large amount of cocaine as well as scales and packaging materials, according to a news release from the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Seven months later, Judge Robert Wilbrandt sentenced Gutierrez to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The Crystal Lake Police Department investigated the case along with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Gutierrez was prosecuted by Brian Miller and Brette Dunbar of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
