To the Editor
At this particular time, as we receive our tax bills, it's a good possibility that most people will not have anything nice to say about their township assessor or our county treasurer. Count me in the minority on this.
On my most recent tax bill, I noticed a Special Service Area assessment. This seemed odd as I have never had an SSA assessment before. I contacted Grafton Assessor Alan Zielinski regarding this. He got back to me almost immediately and explained that the assessor had nothing to do with SSAs but took the time to point me in the correct direction to County Treasurer Glenda Miller.
Glenda responded to my message within minutes, telling me that it appeared to be a typographical error and would look into it. I received several phone calls from Glenda finally resulting in a corrected tax bill with the SSA removed.
I am thankful for the service I received from both of them.
