Letters to the Editor

Letter: Who and what to believe

To the Editor:

On one hand we have the right-wing media with tacit approval from the President calling social distancing, avoiding large groups of people and wearing facial masks an effort by Democrats and the media to bring down the President. They say that the threat of the virus is exaggerated.

The President and many in the right-wing media are now pushing an unproven drug to treat the virus. Remember it was President Trump who suggested the nuttty idea of people ingesting disinfectants treat the virus.

On the other hand, we have the medical professionals who correctly warned of the dangers of the virus and cautioned us to practice social distancing and to wear protective masks. Their estimate that 100,000 could die from the virus has poven to be correct.

But if more die because the advice of the medical professionals was ignored - then as the President will probably say "that is the price of doing business."
