A Crystal Lake man accused of possessing and planning to distribute videos of underage boys engaging in sex acts now faces several Class X child pornography charges.

Anthony Rodriguez-Guerra, 22, was released from the McHenry County Jail on May 28 after posting $10,000 bail. His next court date is scheduled for July 8. Rodriguez-Guerra’s booking photo was not available.

Rodriguez-Guerra, of the 300 block of Maplewood Lane, Crystal Lake, is charged in McHenry County court with multiple counts of possession and possession with intent to disseminate child pornography. Both offenses are Class X felonies typically punishable by six to 30 years in prison.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the McHenry County Circuit Clerk’s Office, Rodriguez-Guerra used a phone messaging app to attempt to distribute the videos on Dec. 6, March 20 and 22, and May 27. The videos are alleged to have depicted boys younger than 13 years old. At least one of the videos included an infant boy, according to the complaint.

Rodriguez-Guerra’s attorney, Steven Miner, could not be reached for comment on Monday.
