Golden Age Cinemas' McHenry Outdoor Theater will be closed for the evening of Tuesday as the theater's projector needs some "unforeseen repairs," according to a Facebook post written by owner Scott Dehn.
"I will keep you all posted on our progress and I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding," Dehn wrote.
This unexpected closure falls on "Carload Tuesday," one of the theater's most popular promotions during which guests pay only $12 per car for admission.
To make it up to his community, Dehn wrote that he will offer the $12 "Carload Tuesday" deal on Wednesday instead. This will give staff time to fix the projector and reopen.
In honor of "John Candy week," the McHenry Outdoor Theater has scheduled showings of "Uncle Buck" followed by "The Great Outdoors" for this week running through Thursday.
Beginning Friday, is "Family Fun Week," featuring the original "Shrek" followed by "Despicable Me," according to a post on the theater's Facebook page.
The theater's box office opens each night at 6:30 p.m. or once the line of cars waiting at the entrance reaches the road, whichever comes first, according to the posted.
