Peaceful demonstration to start in Fox River Grove, end in Cary

A peaceful demonstration is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday in Fox River Grove.

Members of the Fox River Grove Police Department have been in contact with the event organizer in an effort to help make for a safer demonstration, the village said Friday.

The event will start at the Algonquin Road soccer field on the south side of Algonquin Road west of the water tower. Event participants plan to walk north on Gladys Avenue to the Lions Park baseball fields, where the event will conclude, according to the village.

Fox River Grove is expecting some traffic disruption as participants move through the planned route. Traffic control at appropriate intersections will be in place during the march.

The village is asking people to make arrangements to avoid this area around the time of the demonstration if there are any concerns related to traffic disruptions.

According to a Facebook status posted by the village of Cary, there may be minor traffic delays in the area of First Street from Pearl Street north to Cary-Grove High School during this time.
