As Illinois moves into Phase 4 of Gov. JB Pritzker’s Restore Illinois plan, Scorched Earth Brewing Co. in Algonquin has expanded its outdoor beer garden.
The brewery on Berg Street just off Algonquin Road has added more outdoor seating in the parking lot. The space is decorated with custom planter boxes and German beer garden tables. It potentially could seat more than 100 customers.
“We are thrilled to have this expanded space, especially during a time where guests feel most comfortable outside in the open air,” Scorched Earth co-owner Jennifer Dallas said in a statement released by the brewery. “We are also preparing to move to Phase 4 on Friday, June 26, so customers can be seated inside the brewery if they are comfortable doing so.”
Phase 4 allows for bars and restaurants to resume indoor dining with 25% capacity and a limit of 10 people per party.
Scorched Earth said it has taken necessary precautions to protect customers and staff, including making in-house hand sanitizer that soon will be available to buy.
Curbside pickup will remain an option Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
In a post on its Facebook page, Scorched Earth said masks will be required inside the taproom when ordering beer or traveling to and from a table. Masks may be removed when sitting at a table. Customers must have a seat to be served in the taproom. There will be no standing in the taproom or seating at the bar.
