Rider injured in Port Barrington motorcycle crash Saturday night

A 39-year-old man was riding a motorcycle west on Rawson Bridge Road near the Broken Oar restaurant in Port Barrington on Saturday night when he failed to navigate a curve in the roadway, crashing into a nearby guardrail.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a single motorcycle crash at 8:11 p.m. Saturday on the 600 block of Rawson Bridge Road, McHenry County Sheriff's Deputy Sandra Rogers said.

Sheriff's deputies determined that the rider suffered minor injuries when his 2011 Yamaha Stryker motorcycle exited the roadway and collided with the guardrail, Rogers wrote in an emailed statement.

The Wauconda Fire Department also responded to the crash and taken to Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington to be treated for his injuries.

Rogers said the man's motorcycle was damaged significantly and had to be towed from the scene of the crash.

Sheriff's deputies do not believe that drugs or alcohol consumption were a factor in the crash, Rogers said.
