High school sports roundup for Wednesday. Aug. 26

Woodstock North co-op's boys golf team improved to 3-0 in the Kishwaukee River Conference with a 175-191 dual victory over Johnsburg on Wednesday at Chapel Hill in McHenry.

Brad Arnold fired a 42 to lead North co-op, the defending KRC champion. Teammate Aidan Sivore added a 43, followed by Luke Trewyn, Sam Berry and Jake Murray with 45s.

Mike Link had a 43 to lead the Skyhawks. Cody Clauson added a 48, followed by Mason Diedrich and Peter Link with 50s.

Jacobs 164, Hampshire 198: At Randall Oaks in West Dundee, Ryan Frantik had a 39 for the Golden Eagles in a Fox Valley Conference dual victory against the Whip-Purs on Tuesday. Jason Seaholm added a 41, and Kyle Schutt and Justin Cunningham had 42s for Jacobs.

For Hampshire, Jake Laube had a 47, Jake Greenwald had a 49, and Payton Yee and Ian Pawlak had 51s.

GIRLS GOLF

Huntley 157, Prairie Ridge 200: At Pinecrest in Huntley, Molly Baker fired a 1-under-par 35 for the defending FVC champion Red Raiders in a dual win over the Wolves. Huntley posted four of the top five individual scores. Lorelei Oomens had a 37, Kendall Krich had a 42, and Nina Shaffer had a 43 for Huntley.

Elizabeth Tucker had a 42 to lead Prairie Ridge, followed by Ellie King (52), Bri Baron (52) and Kaylin Justes (54).

Burlington Central 170, Crystal Lake Central co-op 197: At Whisper Creek in Huntley, Emily Koh and Kelsey O'Connor each shot 41s for the Rockets in an FVC dual win against the Tigers. Maya Gusciora had a 42, and Teagan O'Connor added a 46.

Central co-op's Renata Petersen tied for the low score of the day with a 41. Also scoring for the Tigers were Abby Rubsam (49), Addison Cleary (49), Jo Greeley (58) and Karolynn Maxwell (58).

Hampshire 186, Dundee-Crown 225: At Bonnie Dundee in Carpentersville, Lily Farnam and Maisie McNamee had 46s to lead the Whip-Purs to an FVC dual win. Julia Bachta and Jessie Dumoulin both had 47s for Hampshire.

Lydia Rodriguez's 51 led D-C. Magen Laas had a 54, Ashley McAtee had a 57 and Katy Mensching had a 63.

McHenry 207, Jacobs 236: At Boone Creek in Bull Valley, McHenry's Aubree Lundin fired a 46 in the FVC dual win against the Golden Eagles. Madison Donovan added a 49, Ashley Wachter had a 53, and Shania Houston had a 59 for the Warriors.

Jordan Miller's 55 led Jacobs. Autumn Kovach added a 58, Brooklyn Krahl had a 59, and Lana Tousey and Kayla Doetsch had 64s.

St. Viator 169, Marian Central 194: At Highland Woods in Hoffman Estates, Ava Notaro had a 42 for the Hurricanes in an East Suburban Catholic Conference loss. Lauren McNulty had a 43, Ella Notaro had a 51, and Ingrid Reyes added a 58 for Marian.

Cate Reisinger had a 40 to lead St. Viator.

Harvard 208, Grayslake North co-op 278: At Abbey Springs in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Emma Ackland had a 47 to lead the Hornets to the nonconference dual win over the Knights on Tuesday. Julia Chupich had a 49, Joelle McMillan had a 55 and Alexis Lehmann added a 57 for Harvard.

GIRLS SWIMMING

McHenry 68, Woodstock North co-op 60: At Woodstock, the Warriors picked up an FVC dual victory over the Thunder. North co-op's Hannah Blaksley took first in two events, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 25.6 seconds and 100 free in 56.78 seconds.
