High school sports roundup for Monday, Sept. 21

Crystal Lake Central won all four doubles matches in a 5-2 Fox Valley Conference girls tennis dual meet victory against crosstown rival Crystal Lake South on Monday in Crystal Lake.

Winning in two sets at doubles for the host Tigers were Haley Benard and Emma Grindstaff (No. 1), Olivia Johnson and Megan Rapisarda (No. 2), Ellyse Cruz and Lexi Holtkamp (No. 3) and Grace Cullian and Anika Richard (No. 4).

Crystal Lake South's Lizzy Sudbrook beat Ellie McGinnis, 4-6, 6-2, 10-8, at No. 1 singles, and Kate Howard won at No. 3 singles for the Gators. Natalia Piekunko won at No. 2 singles for Central (6-3).

Jacobs 6, Prairie Ridge 1: At Crystal Lake, Chloe Siegfort (No. 1) and Isha Desai (No. 2) won their singles matches in two sets for the Golden Eagles in an FVC dual win against the Wolves.

Winning at doubles for Jacobs were Kaya Trumbo and Lara Santa-Ines (No. 1), Alison Gerhardt and Sam Seibert (No. 2), Bryn Reicha and Stef Bogs (No. 3) and Anya Wieczorek and Lissie Kontos (No, 4).

Lillian Manley picked up a win at No. 3 singles for Prairie Ridge.

Marengo 5, Woodstock 2: At Woodstock, Ambria Baker won, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, at No. 3 singles for the Indians in a Kishwaukee River Conference win against the Blue Streaks. Lilly Johnson added a win at No. 1 singles for Marengo.

Noelle Haas and Ashtyn Martin (No. 1), Rebekah Addis and Summer Kunzer (No. 2), Theckla Sweat and Raina Hellyer (No. 3) won their doubles matches for Marengo.

Grace Hockemeyer won at No. 2 singles, and Chase Simonton and Lexi Sanchez won at No. 4 doubles for Woodstock.

Woodstock North 5, Johnsburg 2: At Woodstock, Kaitlyn Mauck and Maggie Thomas won their No. 1 doubles match for the Thunder in the KRC victory. North also earned doubles wins from Belinda Mendoza and Sophia Davidson (No. 3) and Elle Lagerstrom and Mariam Syed (No. 4).

Anika Treadway (No. 2) and Ximena Garcia (No. 3) each won in singles for the Thunder. For the Skyhawks, Gracie Cittadino won at No. 1 singles and Jennifer Bennett and Chandler Mendlik won at No. 2 doubles.

GIRLS GOLF

Burlington Central 169, Dundee-Crown 224: At Bonnie Dundee in Carpentersville, Kelsey O'Connor shot a 40 for the Rockets in an FVC win. Emily Koh had a 41, and Emily Ahlers and Teagan O'Connor added 44s for Burlington Central.

Sonora Rodriguez had a 49, Ashley McAtee had a 53, Magen Laas had a 59 and Lydia Rodriguez added a 63 for the Chargers.

Crystal Lake Central co-op 192, Jacobs 204: At Randall Oaks in West Dundee, Renata Petersen fired a 43 for the Tigers to take medalist honors in the FVC dual win over the Golden Eagles. Addison Cleary and Abby Rubsam both had 49s and Nevin Runge chipped in a 51 for Central,

Autumn Kovach led Jacobs with a 49, followed by Jordan Miller (50), Brooklyn Krahl (52) and Lana Tousey (53).

BOYS GOLF

St. Viator 168, Marian Central 188: At Crystal Woods in Woodstock, Matthew Cotting had a 45 for the Hurricanes in the East Suburban Catholic Conference loss to the Lions. Owen Jager had a 47 and Dylan Yegge and Mason Schwalbach both added 48s.

GIRLS SWIMMING

McHenry 78, Cary-Grove 49: At McHenry, Melisa Nava won three events for the Warriors in an FVC win over the Trojans. Nava won the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.18), 100 free (58.37) and 100 backstroke (1:05.58).

McHenry's Reilly Byron won the 200 individual medley (2:27.57) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.69), Andrea Avila won the 100 butterfly (1:07.05) and Victoria Sadowski won the 500 free (5:54.96).

Cary-Grove's Lizzy Fournier won the 50 free (27.42).
