A report from a concerned parent Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old McHenry man accused of sexually assaulting a child in his care.

McHenry County sheriff’s deputies arrested Joseph Calbillo on Tuesday on two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. The Class X felony typically is punishable by six to 30 years in prison. The sheriff’s office began its investigation Tuesday when officers received a report from a concerned parent who said Calbillo was abusing a child, according to a news release.

Investigators found and arrested Calbillo on a warrant that same day, according to the release. He remained at the McHenry County Jail on Wednesday evening on a $500,000 bond. Calbillo is scheduled to make a court appearance Friday morning.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information can call the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 815-334-4750, McHenry County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-762-STOP (7867) or the sheriff’s office tip line at TipLine@mchenrycountyil.gov.
