A temporary drive-up COVID-19 testing site will be held in McHenry the first weekend of October, according to the McHenry County Department of Health.

Testing will be open to all, regardless of whether they're exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, and no appointment is needed, according to a news release.

Testing will take place 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 2 and 3 at Peterson Park, 4300 Peterson Park Road, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct 4. at the same location.

A nasal swab will be used for the test, and those tested will be called with results within four to seven days, according to the release. Those who have insurance are asked to bring an insurance card to the testing site.

The county health department is partnering with the state to host the testing site.
