To the Editor:
I am writing to support Katherine "Kathy" M. Keefe to be elected McHenry County Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Until my retirement at the end of 2018, I had the privilege of serving as a judge in McHenry County for 42 years. I served as the administrative authority of the court for many years and in such position I worked directly with Kathy on a daily basis.
Both the People of McHenry County and the Court System in McHenry County have been fortunate to have had Kathy Keefe serving as Circuit Clerk for the past 12 years. Kathy has led the Circuit Clerk's Office with great knowledge, skill and efficiency through a time of tremendous change in the way that the Circuit Clerk's Office has conducted its daily business as the court system in the State of Illinois has moved to fully embrace the electronic age.
Kathy has been a leader among the circuit clerks in this state in embracing the necessary changes in record keeping and the storage of records while at the same time ensuring the protection of the records.
Kathy has worked with the judges and justice partners in the McHenry County Justice System to make sure that the court system is protecting all necessary records while at the same time moving into the electronic age with all the advantages which such changes will make possible.
To do so, Kathy has assembled and maintained the support of the finest staff of deputy court clerks in this state. I consider them all to be my colleagues and friends. I lost count many years ago of all the times when I was told by litigants and lawyers using the courts in McHenry County that the McHenry County Court System have the finest, most knowledgeable and responsive Circuit Clerk's Office in this state.
Kathy Keefe has done a superb job as Circuit Clerk in McHenry County for the past 12 years. I will vote for Kathy Keefe for the Office of McHenry County Clerk of the Circuit Court and I urge you to do the same.
