To the Editor:
I was reading an old newspaper the other day and I ran across a cartoon. The cartoon was titled The American Way. It was a cartoon of a son sitting on his dad's knee and dad was telling him "No, daddy did not vote for President Roosevelt, but he was elected by the people and he is our President, and what kind of an American would I be if I did not support our government in a time of crisis?"
Where have some of us gone wrong since 1941?
We are Americans. We believe in the American way. Where in the process of growing up have so many of our Americans gone on a wrong path and losing those American way beliefs. We believe in our country, our flag, our national anthem, our police and enjoy all the freedoms this country affords all Americans.
There is a small number of disgruntled individuals out there who are trying to tear down The American Way. This country isn't perfect, our government isn't perfect, our past history of our country isn't perfect.
The only one thing that we know that is perfect is God. Perhaps, if we want everything to be perfect, we must get our country to be more like God.
Can we do this? Of course not?
But we can bring God back into our country and our American way. The racism and hate we are seeing isn't the belief of all Americans.
It exists in only a small minority of people and the flames of division are fired by the news media and a handful of racists around our country. The true Americans must resist these beliefs and stand tall for our American way.
Are President Trump's plans good for everyone? No.
Are the Democrats plans good for everyone? No.
Look to the Constitution. Whose plans are more closely in line with the Constitution? President Trumps. The Constitution is the American way.
