To the Editor:
I am writing in support of Katherine Keefe for McHenry County Circuit Clerk. I have worked in the Circuit Clerk’s Office for 28 years and am confident that Katherine Keefe is the most qualified candidate. She has been the driving force behind improvements in technology which have led to a more efficiently run office and improved customer service.
One such improvement is the widely-used website application which gives the public online access to court records. She also implemented a free court reminder system that sends text and email reminders of upcoming court dates, resulting in fewer missed court appearances.
Increased efficiency in the office has allowed Katherine Keefe to do more with fewer employees, the result of evaluating vacancies as they occur to determine if that position truly needs to be filled.
A 27% reduction in staff since she was first elected tremendously saves McHenry County taxpayers in personnel costs alone. Other office improvements that save you, the taxpayer, include moving to an electronic court record and greatly reducing and almost eliminating the use of paper.
Katherine Keefe is well-respected among her peers not only in McHenry County but also among the state’s 101 other Circuit Clerks. She has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to various task forces and committees.
Her participation at this level has given her knowledge beyond compare. I have watched her rise to not only meet every challenge presented but soar above it. The McHenry County Circuit Clerk’s Office has long been known for its excellent customer service and advancements in technology, but she has taken the office to new heights and is not finished yet.
I am proud to work in the McHenry County Circuit Clerk’s Office and encourage everyone to vote to re-elect Katherine Keefe as the Circuit Clerk.
