Letters to the Editor

Letter: McHenry Township facts

To the Editor:

I would like to take this time to address a recent letter, filled with misinformation about McHenry Township. The misguided information comes from Bob Anderson, who has been trying to destroy it for years. Why does he keep failing?

Maybe it’s because those of us who live here want all the services they provide. We already voted to keep our great road district, which by the way gets kudos from everyone who rides on any of them.

Can you say that about your roads? Our school bus routes are always cleaned and safe in the winter as are all the many miles of roads our road district takes care of. We also already voted to keep our township, much to the dismay of three of our trustees.

These three tried to get it on the November ballot again and were kicked out of court. They spent more the $10,000 of our township money, which could have been used for much better things, for this frivolous lawsuit. Yes, Bob really knows how to save taxpayer money.

And, by the way, he did not vote to end his pay but the pay of future trustees. The trustees we have now have been paid for the first three years in office $25,300. The previous trustees were paid $22,000.

For four years, there’s another big savings by Anderson and his two misguided cohorts. Dan Ayward has not gone along with Bob for a long time; he saw what he was doing and sided with people of our township. And we thank him for that.

If you’re going to write letters, get your information from reliable sources not from a grudge-filled barber.
