To the Editor:
I am voting for candidates who value life.
Joe Biden listens to health experts on the coronavirus. As president, he would coordinate a science-based approach to the pandemic. His plan calls for offering free COVID testing to all Americans and ramping up production of PPE and supplies for health care workers. I’m voting for him to save the lives of our elderly and others at risk.
Dick Durbin fights to defend and build on the Affordable Care Act. I’m voting for him to protect health care and save the lives of people with pre-existing conditions.
Sean Casten understands the science on global warming and is working to combat the climate crisis. As one example, he introduced a bipartisan act to expand the use of clean energy in our electric grid. I’m voting for him to protect the life of our planet.
Lauren Underwood supports common-sense gun control laws and research into how to prevent gun violence. I urge you to vote for her for the lives of all who have been touched by gun violence, especially those who struggle with suicidal thoughts.
If you agree with these values, please vote. You can vote right now in person at several voting locations that are open Monday through Saturday. You can vote by mail. You can vote Nov. 3. Our lives, and the life of our planet, depends on you!
