I strongly recommend the election of Mark Gerhardt as Circuit Court Judge in this upcoming election. Judge Gerhardt was appointed a Circuit Judge by the Illinois Supreme Court to fill the vacancy on the retirement of Judge Sharon Prather. Judge Gerhardt must now run for that judgeship in the November election.
I am a retired McHenry County Judge. I first met Mark Gerhardt when I was assigned to hear criminal cases in 2002. Mark was the prosecutor in my courtroom. He was an outstanding lawyer. I found him to be hard working, knowledgeable and very talented. He was a pleasure to have in my courtroom.
I followed his career later as a felony prosecutor and then into private practice.
In 2011, Mark was appointed an Associate Judge and for the last 9 years he heard both civil and criminal cases. As my colleague, I found that Mark is as great a person as he is a lawyer. He is a family man, devout Christian, a compassionate gentleman and a trusted friend.
The Illinois Supreme Court made a wise decision when they appointed Mark Gerhardt a Circuit Court Judge and I know the voters will agree.
