Is a Fast Track Program Right For You?

Whether you’re unemployed, looking to change occupations, or trying to reach the next level in your career, pursuing additional training can give you a competitive edge in the workplace.

The Fast Track Program at McHenry County College is a great way to receive effective, convenient education at an affordable cost and an accelerated pace.

Through the Fast Track Program, MCC offers Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees in Business Management, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Management, and Construction Management. The College also offers certificates in CNC Machining, Welding, Architectural and Engineering Design, Industrial Maintenance, and Advanced Manufacturing that can build toward a degree.

If you answer “yes” to any of the below questions, a Fast Track program could be an ideal solution for you:

  • Are you a working adult wanting to return to school but having trouble finding the time?

Fast Track courses are offered in the evenings or online so you can work around your current schedule.

  • Do you want to learn with others who are in the same stage of life?

Many Fast Track students are already established in their careers, and about one-third are recent high school graduates. No matter what your age, you’ll make valuable connections in our community as you work toward furthering your goals.

  • Are you seeking a promotion?

On average, 75% of MCC Fast Track students received one or more promotions since starting the program.

  • Do you want to increase your earning potential?

Showing the initiative to pursue further training tells your employer that you’re invested in learning skills that can help their business—a fact that will be considered when it comes time for a raise or promotion.

  • Do you need to add credentials to your work experience?

If educational experience has ever held you back from reaching the next level of your career, a Fast Track certification could provide the training you need.

High school students who enjoy working with their hands, have an interest in machines or building, or are seeking a non-traditional educational path would also be a great fit for many Fast Track options.
